Alby Cookie Notice

Last updated: 30 May 2026

This Cookie Notice explains how Alby uses cookies and similar technologies across public pages, account areas and event experiences.

Plain English version: Alby uses essential cookies and session data so logins, event access and protected pages work. Alby does not currently use advertising cookies.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include session storage, local storage, browser identifiers and server-side session records.

2. Essential cookies

Alby uses essential cookies and sessions to:

  • Keep account users signed in.
  • Protect private account, billing and event administration pages.
  • Remember event access state, such as password access, registration access, invite-only access or voter/session access.
  • Support CSRF/security protections, form handling and application routing.
  • Maintain reliable platform behaviour across page loads.

These cookies are required for the service to work properly. If they are blocked, parts of Alby may not load or may repeatedly ask users to sign in or re-enter access details.

3. Analytics and access logs

Alby may log technical information such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, page access, event ID, registration ID, voter/session state and related technical data. These logs help run analytics, troubleshoot issues, protect access-controlled content and support audit requirements for event tools such as Alby Vote.

4. Third-party cookies and embeds

Event pages may include third-party embeds or links such as livestream players, video platforms, Zoom, Slido, YouTube, Vimeo or other tools selected by an event organiser. Those services may set their own cookies or collect their own usage data. Their cookie and privacy practices are controlled by the relevant third party.

5. Advertising cookies

Alby does not currently use advertising cookies to sell or target personal information to advertisers.

6. Managing cookies

Most browsers allow users to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop Alby account areas, protected event pages, registration access, voting access or interaction tools from working correctly.

7. Changes to this notice

Alby may update this Cookie Notice as platform features, third-party integrations or cookie use changes. The updated date above shows when this page was last revised.
